ཀླད་ཆེན།
neurosci. The largest part of the vertebrate brain, filling most of the skull and consisting of two hemispheres divided by a deep groove and joined by a mass of nerve fibers. It consists of gray matter (the cerebral cortex) on the outside and white matter on the inside. Each hemisphere is divided into four sections, called the frontal, occipital, parietal, and temporal lobes. The cerebrum controls voluntary activity, processes complex sensory information, and is responsible for mental functions.
